About the Author
Nick Stellino grew up in Palermo, on the island of Sicily, and came to the United States in 1975. In 1991, he decided to leave his career as a Wall Street stockbroker in order to follow his dream of becoming a chef. He started his culinary career as a dishwasher. Over time, he apprenticed with the best Italian chefs in America. Nick says he was in heaven working his way up the restaurant line, but he wanted to share his enthusiasm for Italian cooking with more people. He decided a cooking show was the answer. Employing the energy that had taken him from Palermo to Wall Street, Nick began calling production companies. His efforts culminated in the highly successful series Cucina Amore, Nick Stellino's Family Kitchen, Nick Stellino Cooking with Friends, and most recently, Cooking with Nick Stellino, all seen on public television stations nationwide.
Nick lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Nanci, and their two cats, Luca and Luigi.

Well done. Some very good recipes and Nick's personality is reflected in the book, too. I recommend it without reservations.

The Sicilian Invasion!

Been a "Foodie" for long time - including watching and using recipes from Julie Childs - Emeril - Bobby Flay - Giada - and so many more. Many of their cookbooks were purchased - some were delightful and some not so much - - Not too many months ago we watched "Nick Stellino" on PBS's "On Demand." What an infectious personality - how very simple and passionate he gets in the kitchen (well, at least in front of the camera - I'd bet he's that way at home too) - great recipes demonstrated as only Nick Stellino can show and tell with his modest Sicilian accent. His commentary alone is worth watching the program. So naturally we had to get the book - not too many books on Amazon by Nick - but this book typifies his personality - recipes, many we watched him make on TV - explained in easy-to-follow steps - BUT... the asides that he writes are themselves worthy of publication. Sorry, am getting carried away. If you like "reading standard" Cookbooks, old-timey cookbooks, you may want to sample it before buying it.
If you want to have fun reading and cooking, this book is for you!

A cookbook worth owning.

Nick Stellino was even better than I expected and I expected a lot. Some of the receipes brought back childhood memories.
